Helping Green Businesses Grow
You don’t need a pot of gold in order to launch and successfully run a business. What’s far more important is motivation, drive, enthusiasm, dedication, a belief in customer service and most importantly common sense. For a relatively small amount of money you can put your financial destiny in your own hands and provide yourself with a very sound financial future. What’s more we want to help you!
Early in June we attended a ‘Together in Corporate Social Responsibility’ event hosted by our client Mears. Their charity, the Mears Foundation, supports good causes worldwide and after hearing about all the fantastic work they are involved in we were inspired to do our own bit and get involved.
As part of one of the Mears Foundation’s projects they work with young people in the Peterborough area to provide training through the “Mears Academy” . Here individuals learn skills such as a specific trade, plumbing, brick laying etc.
We will be working in conjunction with this scheme to offer practical advice and mentoring for these young people interested in setting up their own business or social enterprises.
We have teamed up with Ken Mantock (Corporate Social Responsibility Director for Mears) with the intention of investing in a business idea by
- Part funding the start up business of a young person trained by the Mears Academy -this could be a business from any construction trade.
- Part funding a Green business idea for a young person within the Peterborough area.
- Mentoring young individuals from the academy who want to start their own business but don’t know how.
Keep a look out in future newsletter to find out how we are getting on!
