The law requires all business to keep their waste tidy and safe and to pay for its disposal. This means that businesses must have a trade waste collection agreement with either the Council or a registered waste carrier.

The Council or waste carrier will provide you with Waste Transfer Notes which you should keep for at least two years to prove legal disposal of your waste. If you do not produce your documents when asked to do so you may be issued with a £300 Fixed Penalty Notice.
